The grypas, the griffin is a common depiction in the Greek mythology. This is a mythical creature with a lion's body and an eagle’s head and wings. In some representations, it can also be seen with a snake’s tail. The griffin, and specifically the griffin that has no wings, is a symbol associated with Minoan Crete. Griffins appear having no weathers to convey their constant presence in the throne room by being unable to fly. The mixed form of the non-flying griffin symbolized the three spheres of the world, the heavenly, the earthly and infernal, with its eagle's head, lion's body and serpentine tail while also symbolizing a royal and divine power. The majestic and powerful presence of this mythical creature is represented by the orange color and becomes even more intense as it is framed by the red background.
